Woven Silk Tie

Now that you are more accustomed to matching colours I think you will be able to choose a tie that fits your age, look or suit easier. It's not hard to do this especially when you have the world wide web's help. There thousands of sites out there which can help you choose a tie for the look you want. But the best thing by far are the pics all over the Internet that help you choose the tie for you, or in this case the woven silk tie for you.

In the last post I wrote a few indicators to help you know what to look for when shopping for a tie. The best thing you can do is think in advance. Search the web or a fashion magazine and seek out an entire suit that you like. Only after this go out and shop for what you need. And it's better to buy the entire suit in one shopping spree because this way it will be easier to match all that you buy. If you buy a suit today, a shirt tomorrow and so on, there is a higher chance to buy something that you really like but don't have what to match it with.

Like I said in my first post, I shall post some pics of what I consider to be good looking ties in combination with the suits they match to. These are net pics, however not everything you find online is ok, so here we go:

Now look at this two suits, both look pretty much the same and despite this they both went for some different approach in the tie category. Why is this so? Because of the neural colours chosen for the suit and the shirt. If you choose a dark suit with a white shirt than you can have a spot of colour, and which is the best way to do this? Yes, a woven silk tie:

Both ties have a different approach but as you can see both go well if you have a neutral suit and shirt. Of course if you are looking for a conservative look, or that's just the way you dress, go for a simple black tie and then nobody will have anything bad to say about you, however I think that would make a way to neutral suit. So remember a bit of colour can help.

Woven Silk Tie

Hello and welcome to what I hope to be a gentleman's site. As you can already read from the title of the blog this site is dedicated to the discussion of one of the most important part of any executive suit, the tie. Of course there are many types out in the world, but it is my opinion that the basic woven silk tie is the classy way to go, and therefore nothing can go wrong when wearing something like this.

Now I shall try, in this blog to present the best way to go when you want to buy something like this. The best way to do this, in my opinion is by pictures, examples. Therefore I shall try to show a picture of a person wearing a costume and the appropriate woven silk tie that goes with it.

From what I have noticed the "best" way to ruin an elegant look isn't the suit you choose because you can go wrong only by picking something very extravagant, but the basic black, blue maybe dark grey suit can't harm your look; you have to find a shirt that matches and you are done. However the tie you pick can be a deal breaker, and therefore you must be very careful that you don't through your money away on something that you think looks great in the store but at home realize that doesn't go with anything you own.

I might not have a degree in this matter but I have always managed to pull off a great, elegant look without much trouble and on a buget. I don't like bragging, however I think it is important to share this so as to gain a little trust I hope.

Now, when choosing a woven silk tie or a tie of any sort you should do this according to some factors that may influence your decision. I shall share with you a few:
  • choose according to your age. For example, let's say we have to characters, Simon who is 20, and Mark who is 40. And the two pictures with ties. I hope I don't have to tell who should choose which one, but I shall because that's the theme of the site. The one on the left is the one for Mark(40) and the set on the right is more at home with Simon.

  • another aspect you have to take into consideration is the purpose of the look you are trying to achieve. Let's take the example I gave earlier. On a day to day bases Simon will go for that punk look, but what if he has an important interview, or exam, well things might change a little if he wants to impress and not shock. Maybe he should go for the look on the left. In the same way, who knows maybe business man Mark has a Halloween party he wants to go to and is looking for a radical look; then maybe he could try the funky looking ties, however I wouldn't recommend it.

  • now that you now what you are looking to prepair for let's talk about the most important aspect in my opinion: color match. You have to match the suit with the shirt and of course the woven silk tie if you want to go anywhere. Now the simplest way to do that is go black and white, it's classy and nobody will say anything bad about it, but here is the problem, many won't say anything about it, you will be just a ghost. So here is where the colours come in. I'm not saying you should go on an dress up in pink, but a pale, dark colour can do wonders. The problem again is matching those colours. Many people don't know how to do that and have the wrong view that if you buy something expensive it can any colour and will work. Wrong! People need to learn how to match. Here are some sites that can help you do that. Even though their main porpoise is to help match web site colours it can help you learn about the subtleties in color matching:
  1. Hypergurl and
  2. ColorBlender

Ok, if you follow this few tips I think you are on your way to having a great elegant look. Thank you for reading and I shall give some more examples in the nest posts.
